PUBLIC NOTICE : ROAD CLOSURE ON SATURDAY 1ST JULY AT 10PM TO SUNDAY 2ND JULY AT 4PM FOR NAIROBI CITY MARATHON
Please note that the Nairobi Expressway will be temporarily closed on Saturday 1st July at 10PM to Sunday 2nd July at 4PM as we host the 2nd Edition of the Nairobi City Marathon .
We kindly request all motorists and commuters to plan their journey accordingly.
PROPOSED NAIROBI EXPRESSWAY TOLL OPTIMIZATION AND UPGRADING PROJECT STAKEHOLDER AND PUBLIC CONSULTATION FORUMS
The Kenya National Highways Authority and Moja Expressway Company intend to undertake enhancements and improvements works on the Nairobi Expressway to accommodate the growing traffic. These upgrades will involve the addition of extra lanes at the Museum Hill Exit and the JKIA Entrance and construction of a new Haile Selassie Toll Station Exit to facilitate the seamless flow of traffic into the CBD.
KeNHA wishes to invite the public and stakeholders to join the discussion on 5th June 2023, from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM at The Green Park Terminus, Uhuru Park. The public within the project area and the surrounding are hereby notified and invited to attend the Public Consultation Meetings to be held as per the above schedule. The Nairobi Expressway opened on trial basis
The Nairobi Expressway has been opened to motorists on a trial basis. This will give us the opportunity to see what can be improved on.
The Nairobi City Marathon
The first edition of the Nairobi City Marathon was held on 8th May 2022 at the corridors of the Nairobi Expressway bringing together thousands of runners from Kenya and beyond.

Climate change through Carbon emission reduction
The Expressway will contribute to carbon emission reduction and sustainable development by implementing landscaping in the median strip and on the bridge piers. We will collaborate with partners to offset the loss of vegetation by planting trees.
Improving access to technical education for students
We aim to increase the level of engagement of students in Technical Education through the provision of field tours, industrial attachments and other work experience opportunities.
